Mossy Rocks

These rocks have trapped little highlights of fall with their mossy fingers. This HDR image seems to almost appear 3D.

Breaking Loose

The early signs of fall are evident here with spots of color and a single leaf already broken away. This is an HDR picture made with one image. The HDR software I use doesn't need multiple pictures to create an HDR image. This one uses the Compressor Deep setting to enrich the colors.

Wild Oak Colors

A wild oak tree in Victoria, BC. The colors on this tree were really striking but the sun was harsh, so I took three bracketed, exposure compensated pictures and combined them to get the colors with greater richness without losing the texture of the bark and moss on the branches.

Fall Palette

Gorgeous colors in Butchart Gardens, Victoria, BC. By framing this picture with the dark tree trunk on the left and the bushes on the right, it caused the trees ahead to be all washed out. When the trees where properly exposed the tree trunk became a black silhouette. Yet I wanted to see some of the bark and texture of the tree. HDR makes this possible.
